| The third SureFire I bought was the M2 Centurion. This light was bought as a replacement for the lost Scorpion. Needless to say, there is a slight difference between this light and the Scorpion. This light has useful features like an integrated belt clip (which is removable) and a lock-out tail cap. The flashlight is also designed to be used in conjunction with the Rogers flashlight technique and features a mid-shaft O-ring to facilitate this hold.
I can't say enough good things about this flashlight. I carry it everyday on my duty belt and the included clip works great for that type of carry. I do find that the clip doesn't work well with a normal belt, perhaps because it is stretched from my duty belt. This means that it will occasionally fall of my belt with a large "clunk" and almost always in some public place.
Something no one has been able to explain to me is the design of the lockout tail cap. There is a notch on the flashlight body and a notch on the cap that when lined-up indicate the light is "armed." I suppose the idea is that you can "arm" the light if you carry it off and can verify that it is ready to go without turning it on and revealing your position. If this is in fact the idea, why aren't the notches raised bumps? These would be far easier to feel with gloves on than the shallow grooves.
