| Before I start giving my opinions about particular products (we all know how valuable they are) let me remind you what makes a good magazine carrier. First and most importantly, the design of the carrier must allow for the proper indexing of a magazine. That is, when you grip the magazine while it is still in the carrier, you should be able to extract it with your index finger along the front of the magazine and your finger tip on the top round. As I'm sure you know, the proper indexing of a magazine is the key to performing a smooth (and therefore quick) reload. In order to accomplish this, the holder must allow the hand to slip between the body and the magazine. Also, the holder should cover as little of the magazine as possible so that it can be gripped properly.
I have found that it is far easier to find a good magazine carrier than it is to find a good holster at least for concealed carry. I have tried three different products for concealed carry and have mostly been happy. The first magazine carrier I've used is the single magazine carrier from Galco, I've also used the double carrier from Blade-Tech, and the single from a company whose name escapes me. There are also reviews of magazine carriers for duty belts.
