TARGETS

Calibre Press Promo Picture
The neatest 3-D target I've ever shot on was one of Delta's Burt targets. Delta makes full-size 3-D foam targets that look eerily like real people (there's even a Hillary model). As an added bonus, there are different items available for placement in the hands, making shooters discriminate between shoot and no-shoot targets. When I attended Maricopa Tactical, the finale was to shoot a Burt target that was mounted to a MAD Robot remote control system. This system allowed the target to move in any direction at a very high rate of speed. Not only was the target quick but the platform actually had some torque and could actually move pieces of cover that had been set up on the range.

As much fun as it was, this is a toy that is out of the reach of most shooters, with the M.A.D. robot costing at least a thousand dollars. The Delta targets are available for less, with basic, non-reactive models starting near $100. I've never used them but these targets are marketed with stands that make them reactive which would make them just about perfect. (Available from Calibre Press)

This picture is from another distributor (www.tetragon.ca)of the Delta targets but it does give you an idea of the realism of the targets:
