When plastic reactive targets were first released, I thought my prayers had been answered. I read very favorable reviews in the gun rags and began shopping for a good deal. I found this company's targets at a SOF show in Vegas and thought I got a great deal. (I'm not sure of the company's name anymore - they were the company bought by Smith and Wesson if that tells you anything) I bought three of their 6" round targets for $120 and thought my search for reactive targets was over. However, my first shooting session quickly dismissed any such ideas.
For starters, I don't see how these targets can live up to their advertised life of thousands of rounds. As you can see from the pictures, after less than one hundred rounds, the targets show an incredible amount of wear. Also, the hinge system of these targets is very vulnerable. One target took TWELVE rounds before it was made unusable. Basically, one round went low and to the right and severed the "pin" that serves as a hinge. It was also my experience that the spring included with the unit tend to fatigue very quickly and won't even keep the target upright after a short time.
I can't think of polite words to describe the value of these targets, all I'll say is DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.
