Air Soft Force on Force Instructors Course by Karl Rehn, KR Training
Karl Rehn, of KR Training, was one of the first trainers to recognize the value of scenario based combat simulation training with AirSoft munitions. The AirSoft guns are gas operated pistols that are 1:1 copies of real sidearms. They fire semiautomatically, using 6mm plastic BB's. Since the guns are identical to the real version, they can be used in your normal holster, and hold the same number of rounds as your real sidearm.
Karl has developed an instructor program built around using these AirSoft guns and related safety equipment. The course includes scenario development, role player selection and training, scripting, safety issues, equipment selection, debriefing, and more. Karl with be offering an AirSoft Force on Force Instructor Course concurrent with our annual Tactical Conference in February 2005. The instructor trainees will spend the Friday before the conference in training, then will be role players in scenarios during the weekend, as we put conference attendees through the scenarios. This is a great opportunity to learn the theory behind Force on Force training, and participate in a number of scenarios throughout the weekend. You will also learn how to select your equipment for this type of training, which could save you a lot of money later.
Tuition is $150, and class size is limited to 12 students.
Long Range Knife Fighting by Steve Moses
Steve Moses, of Dallas, Texas, will be returning to Rangemaster on Monday, February 28th, for a one day Defensive Knife Course. Steve taught this course at Rangemaster last year, and the students were very pleased with the training. Steve is a Texas peace officer who has studied the martial arts and knife fighting extensively, as well as being a very talented firearms instructor. This course has very little classroom training. Most of the day will be spent sparring, learning simple but highly effective techniques for deploying a folding knife in self defense. There are very few times/places when you can't have a pocket knife, and Steve can teach you how to use one effectively in self defense.
Cost is only $150.00, and class size is limited to 16 students.

Strong Hand Only by Jeff Gonzales, Trident Concepts
The Strong Hand Only course is unique in its concept. It focuses on fighting with your strong hand only, which in most close quarters fighting situations is not only realistic, but addresses worse-case scenario. Emphasis is on developing skill's confidence at fighting with only one hand. The Strong Hand Only course is for those who have developed aggressive and effective handgun techniques with their primary shooting method already. We will work on the fundamentals of accuracy from the various guard positions and out of the holster. Once established, we will force you to shoot quickly, but carefully. An introduction to stepping off the line of attack and shooting on the move is covered and incorporating non-standard responses as part of your options is highly encouraged.
The course focuses at reinforcing in close quarters; the combat mindset, combat marksmanship, non-diagnostic manipulations, ammunition management and non-standard responses. It exposes students to the realities of strong & weak hand only fighting.
Core skills include:
-Reinforce the Combat Mindset and Personal Protection Directives.
-Familiarize with the Dynamic Platform, the Trinity, the Presentation Continuum and Non-Violent Postures.
-Reinforce Non-Diagnostic weapons manipulations on the move.
-Reinforce muzzle discipline from unconventional positions using the 360º Guard.
-Exposure to the Target Enhancement Training Program (TETP)™.
-Reinforce muzzle discipline from unconventional positions.
-Engage multiple threats.
-Engage threats using non-standard responses, perform post-shooting assessments and scanning techniques.
-Engage threats at night using reduced light techniques and non-diagnostic techniques.
-Demonstrate individual close quarter's skills during day.
-Develop dry fire training techniques to maintain proficiency
-Reduced light defensive and offensive techniques
Cost is only $185.00, and class size is limited to 16 students.
